ALL BUT NOTHING
He had everything that he wanted...so it seemed;
In kindergarten, he appeared to have the most potential than anyone,
and was given a special award for his special and unique abilities;
In grade school, he made all the superior grades and won special honors and praises;
In elementary school, he excelled with the highest grades in the school, receiving honors and praises;
In junior high school, he surpassed all of his fellow students in academics and athletics,
with natural talent in football, baseball and basketball and receiving honors and praises;
In high school, he became All American in three sports, was popular on and off school grounds,
girls loved him and guys wanted to be like him, receiving honors and praises;
He became valedictorian of his class and gave an electrifying speech that jarred the coliseum with endless cheers and applause, receiving honors and praises;
He received scholarships at numerous universities, including HBCS and all other Ivy league institutions,
receiving honors and praises;
In college, he played two sports, joined the most popular fraternity on the campus and in four years, earned dual degrees in electrical engineering and chemistry, graduating as valedictorian of his class,
again rocking the house with his gift of speech, receiving honors and praises;
He was accepted to one of the most prestigious law schools in the country with a scholarship in hand,
excelling to first in his law school class and the highest overall grades in university his history,
touching hearts as he had done for so long before with his speech,
receiving again, honors and praises;
He was offered a top job with top pay with a prestigious law firm in a city that every lawyer would sulk in envy, making partner in the form after only three years and he received honors and praises;
He married a beautiful woman who was more attractive than one could describe and later had three beautiful children, precious in every way;
He bought a beautiful mansion on hundreds of acres, was featured in every business subscription circulation for his enormous contribution the the areas of law and business,
receiving honors and praises;
Then he became very sick and suddenly died....without GOD...without eternal joy...without eternal hope...without JESUS!
What good is it that a man gains the whole world but loses his soul?...What does it mean to him now?...
and in eternity, he received no honors or praises...forever!
